Your presence contributes to an extraordinary endeavor. The Tibetan Aid Project has distributed nearly 6 million traditional texts across the Himalayan region, making it one of the largest free text distributions in history.

TAP is a nonprofit organization run by volunteer staff. We are deeply grateful for and inspired by the outpouring of support and generosity from our donors, collaborators, and friends that makes this cultural preservation work possible.

TAP was founded in 1969 by Tibetan lama Tarthang Tulku to protect Tibet's heritage after the destruction of 95% of its texts, art, monasteries, colleges, and libraries. This systematic preservation ensures that ancient teachings remain accessible to future generations.
Our work also supports an endangered language, makes education accessible to women and lay people, and protects a culture and wisdom tradition that has greatly enriched Western mental health fields and wellness practices in recent decades.
In 2001, the first Taste & Tribute Benefit Gala was held, inspired by founding chef Laurent Manrique's interest in Tibetan culture. 2025 marks Tibetan Aid Project’s 22nd annual Taste & Tribute event!
